Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief. Swedish massage may loosen up tight muscles caused by daily activities such as sitting at the computer or exercising. It can be very helpful for people who hold a lot of tension in their:

-lower back

-shoulders

-neck

Deep Tissue Massage

More specific than the general massage this work focuses on your problem areas. It is excellent for eliminating tension from your body, reducing tightness and muscle pain. It also realigns the body and frees your movement through myofascial work.

Hot Stone Therapy/Warm Bamboo

A soothing and relaxing full-body massage that uses smooth, heated volcanic stones. The hot stones penetrate deep into the tissue, transmitting heat and energy as you receive long, flowing strokes. The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points along your spine, or in the palms of your hands, or even between your toes to improve the flow of energy in your body. Bamboo has been used for centuries in healing and massage and can be used warm or cold to perform specialized massage techniques. The warmth of the tools helps to melt muscular tension.

Reiki

Reiki is an energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety through gentle touch. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial (my-o-FASH-e-ul) release is a manual therapy technique often used in massage. The technique focuses on pain believed to arise from myofascial tissues — the tough membranes that wrap, connect and support your muscles. The focused manual pressure and stretching used in myofascial release therapy loosen up restricted movement, leading indirectly to reduced pain.

Gua Sha

Gua sha is a natural, alternative therapy that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve your circulation. Gua sha is intended to address stagnant energy, called chi, in the body that practitioners believe may be responsible for inflammation. Inflammation is the underlying cause of several conditions associated with chronic pain. Rubbing the skin’s surface is thought to help break up this energy, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. Gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin to relieve pain and tension. This action causes light bruising, which often appears as purple or red spots known as petechiae or sha. This is a normal occurrence.

Cupping

Cupping uses a cup to pull an area of skin into a suction that decompresses muscles and connective tissue. This promotes blood flow to the compromised area, enhances circulation and helps to increase the body's own healing processes — almost like a backward deep tissue massage.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic massage treatment. The massage uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body. The lymph system is part of your body's immune system and helps fight infection.

** Your custom massage may include hot stones, bamboo, cupping, lymphatic drainage and Gua Sha at listed price; however, if you request a more intensive treatment with these modalities, there will be a $10 charge per service.
